  Mission of the UCR Campus Store
The Mission of the UCR Campus Store is to provide in a cost effective and customer service oriented manner all required products and associated services in order to support UCR's teaching, research and public service. This will be accomplished through improved productivity, enabling technology and enhanced customer service. Emphasis will be placed on minimizing the rising costs of providing products and services while meeting the increasing demand consistent with campus growth.
  UCR Campus Store Departmental Goals
  • Increase the efficiency and effectiveness of Campus Store operation by properly utilizing the physical retail, storage and office space of all operational locations in order to accommodate the projected growth of UCR.
  • Increase the efficiency and cost effectiveness of the Campus Store operation by streamlining, automating and updating systems, improving operational procedures and defining sufficient staffing to meet workload demands.
  • Respond to changing customer demands by providing the required variety of products and services to the campus community in a timely, cost effective and trackable manner.
  • Improve the Campus store's financial position by increasing net sales, cutting operational expenses and increasing net income.
  • The UCR Campus Store will sell textbooks at the lowest prices in the nation. This will be accomplished by dropping the gross margin applied to textbooks, in a systematic and financially sound manner, to 20% or lower.
  • Provide a safe, heathly and productive work environment for the Campus Store operation.
  UCR Campus Store Departmental Objectives
  • Remodel the UCR Campus Store and add new venues, products and services.
  • Implement new marketing programs for the UCR Campus Store.
  • Implement the office of the president policy on management of health, safety and the environment.
  • Continue textbook affordability initiative.
  • Build new shipping/receiving & warehouse facility for the Campus Store operation.
  • Continue development of the stadium sales department within the general merchandise division.
