Standards for the production of UCR Licensed Logo Apparel
The UC Code of Conduct for Trademark Licensees (“UC Code”), is incorporated by reference into each UCR trademark license and establishes workplace standards that licensees must impose on factories producing UCR logo goods.
The UCR Compliance program is administered by the Fair Labor Association (FLA) and by the Workers’ Rights Consortium (WRC), an NGO with United Students Against Sweatshops (USAS) representatives on its Board.
UC committed in May of 2006 to implement a Designated Supplier Program DSP) and has established a UC DSP Implementation Committee to provide guidance on this program. This committee includes UC student representation. In the event of non-compliance with the requirements of the UC Code, licensees are subject to sanctions up to and including termination of licenses by UC.
